At the "Fish Gone Wild" aution our fish went for over $1200. It was so fun and exciting to be there.

Morgan 7th b-day she had at the bowling alley w/her friends. The storm sirens went off in the middle of the party so we got to spend some time in the basement...which was really interesting!

"Relay for Life" was another great year, thanks to all of you. The girls got their hair done and had a blast.

In the same day Morgan had her Awards Bridging Ceremony for Girls Scouts, she bridged from being a Daisy to a Brownie, and both the girls had their Dance Recital. This was Morgans fourth year and Claire's first. They both did a wonderful job and had fun. Morgan performed three dances, tap, ballet and jazz and Claire did ballet. And mom did a lot of running back stage to help with all the costume changes.

Sorry I know it has been a while but here are a bunch a pictures for you all. We took the kids, with some friends of our, to a waterpark in Alexandria this spring. Everyone had a great time and the girls ask regularly when we can go again.

Morgan lost her first top tooth. and is waiting for the other one to fall out.

Claire and I went to the Nelson Farm this spring with ECFE. It was a beautiful day and alot of fun. We got to see and pet baby animals.
Morgan enjoyed her first field day this spring. She did four events which she placed in all of them. In the three legged race her and her friend Taylin places second, long jump she placed third, softball throw she place third and last she did hoppity hop and placed first.

Here is a picture of a fish that myself and my mother and father in law did for a community artist contest. We find out in August who wins the people choice award and then the fish will be auctioned off to the public. There where a total of 22 fish. It was amazing to see all the different ones.

Thank you Lord and thank all of you for all your on going payers!! Patrkick had CT's, an ultrsound, blood work and a visit with the oncologist in Rochester last week. The doc said everthing looks PERFECT! Yeah, Yeah, Yeah....our prayers have been answered!! His next follow-up will be blood work in 4mos, CT's in 8mos and then back to Rochester in a year.

There was a lot going on this month to be happy about. Jada turned 30, we celebrated our 8 year wedding anniversary (together 11yrs), Patrick has been cancer free 1 year and Morgan will turn 6 in a couple of days. Yahoo!!! Many of you know Patrick graduated in April with a B.S. degree in Business/Marketing, so we have been celebrating that ever since!

Claire has been wanting a Build-A-Bear friend like her older sister. So we brought her to the Mall of America where she picked out a dog like her sister, gave it a voice (bark), a heart and wishes of love. She helped stuff it to just the right amount of snuggly, then picked out a pink tutu for her new puppy. She named her new friend Daisy!!

Friday night we went to the mall to see Santa. Little did the girls know that santa was actually Grandpa Terry! He is santas helper this year. Morgan ran up to santa and realized right away who it was but we think Claire did not. Everytime Morgan would call him "Grandpa" Claire would say "No Santa". To cute!!

My sister Ashley and Matt got married of Sept. 20. All four of us were in the wedding and had a wonderful time. The day was perfect. Morgan was the junior bridesmaid and Claire was the flower girl. The other two girls in the photo are Matt's cousins and they were candlelighter. I am sorry I don't have a picture of all four of us, I forgot to even get my camera out that day. Opps!

Here are some pictures from Claire's 3rd birthday party. We had alot of fun with friends and family. It was a rainy day so we were kinda bummed. I had borrowed a bounce house for the kids to jump in for the party. It did manage to quit raining for a tiny bit so they were able to jump for a while. They had a blast.

Patrick had a check-up at the end of Aug. and everything looked great. He goes back Nov. 20 and 21st for his next check-up. Lets all pray for more good news.

Relay for Life

I was on a relay for life team this summer called"Tastefully Simple Believers". It was a great time and we raised alot of money for the cause. Patrick participated in the survivor walk on the night of the event, which is to celebrate these fighters. Seeing him in this huge group of people who have or had cancer was very emotional. I want to thank all of you who donated to this event. It is very necessary that we keep trying to fight this horrable disease.

Back to normal...What's normal?

Patrick is back into a normal routine again, work, school, family and fishing and shooting of course. He is cancer free now for a couple of months and had his first check-up in the beginning of June. His blood work and full body CT looked great and his next check-up is at the end of August. His hair has starting to grow back and he feels almost 100%. We continue to hope and pray that this is the end of our journey and we can now move on. We feel very fortunate in many ways. Thanks again for all the prayers and support everyone has given.

Morgan turned five on June 30th and we had a party for her on the 29th. Most of the family and a few close friends were there to help her celebrate. She wanted a Barbie Princess theme, from the cake to the pinata. Everyone had a great time and it was a beautiful day.

Well at least this is the last time, we hope! He lost his eyebrows and eye lashes this time, which is an interesting look, but oh well hair grows back. Patrick has finished his last cycle of chemo and is now on the road to recovery. His is cancer free and ready to get back into the grind of normal life. These last two cycles were very hard compared to the first four. So he is glad to be done. We are all very thankful for everyone's thoughts and prayers. They have really hepled us get through this. It is really great to know that we have such wonderful people around us. So Thank You!!

Nelson Farm

We went on a field trip with ECFE to the Nelson Farm. The girls got to see, touch and even hold the new baby animals on the farm. It was a great day and we all really enjoyed it.

Hospital Again

Patrick was admitted to the hospital in Willmar today. He hasn't been feeling well with the flu or a bad cold since Sunday. He went in to the doctor this morning and had blood drawn. They realize that his white blood cell count and other counts were extremely low and a chest x-ray showed he might have pneumonia. So he was admitted to get things under control. We are waiting on blood work and other tests to find out exactly what bug he has so they can treat him accordingly. In the mean time they are giving him a general antibiotic and fluids. His fever broke early this evening and then he started to perk up some. Hopefully this will be a quick recovery for him. He goes back to mayo next Friday (16th) to starts his second cycle of chemo which hopefully will be his last. We hope this will finely be the end of our journey with cancer. Thanks again for everyone's support and prays.

back home, again

Patrick was at Mayo April 24-30. Tests showed the spot in the left lung is gone! He is recovering well from his previous surgery, but had to undergo inpatient chemo during the last 5 days of this visit. Although Patrick has been very nauseous, it is nice to be at home. He has to return to Mayo on May 16 for more tests and chemo. The doctors are optimistic (and so are we) that this next visit will be the end of treatment! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Easter

Between Las Vegas and Patrick being in the hospital we missed out on Easter Celebrating with the girls, but our family got some good pictures of them for us. The first is the girls in their fancy dresses on Easter Sunday. The second was a celebration called "Hop Along the Bunny Trail" though ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education) at Claire's school. They had a great time both days. And the third was from when we got home and gave the girls the their Easter baskets from us.

Surgery for Patrick

Well even after an additional week of chemo in February we found out in March that there were still spots remaining in his lungs. So the next step was to do surgery on his right lung to remove the spots. They made an incision in his back and accessed his right lung by spreading his ribs apart and sliced off parts of the lung. They removed about 15% of his lung. We are going back to Mayo on the Apr 21st for follow ups and to determine what to do next. There is still a single spot in the left lung and two of the eight spots removed from the right lung were cancerous so there are still more steps to be taken to cure him. We were told to plan on staying the week for additional chemo, which he will have to be admitted for five days into the hospital for this treatment. Patrick is not very excited about the next visit, but we have faith in the Mayo doctors and will do what it takes to be cured!

Vacation!!

In February Patrick and I went on a little vacation/work trip to Las Vegas. It was a nice get away for both of us. Patrick has been there many times, but I had never been. We took a bus tour to Hoover Dam, did a lot of sight seeing on the strip and also went to a Cirque Du Solie "O" show. The show was definitely the best part of the trip. Amazing! The remainder of the trip was work for Patrick and I laid in the sun.

It was around 30 degrees today so it was just perfect for being out in the snow. Morgan and Claire played, made snow angels and went sledding. Claire didn't care to much for the sledding part, but Morgan loves it.

We all had to say good bye to our beloved cats. We have discovered that the source of Morgan's asmthatic breathing problems she has been struggling with are our furry friends. We had them for over five years and it is very strange to not have them around any more. We all miss them alot.

Patrick had his 3 week checkup today, and the tumors that were seen in his lungs three weeks ago can no longer be seen. This is great news, obviously meaning that the chemo treatment is working, and because he has no symptoms of the cancer spreading, they will continue with the original chemo treatment plan. His white blood cell count is higher than expected, which is also very good news. Unfortunately his hair has started to fall out, so we got a little crazy with clipper to reduce the shedding.

We had lots of fun this Halloween. We got to go trick or treating two days. Tuesday we went in Kandiyohi and Wednesday we went here in Spicer. Prayers for Patrick

As most of you already know, Patrick has been diagnosed with testicular cancer which has spread to his lungs. He will begin chemo therapy with in the week. Please keep him in your prayers. Nelson Farm Fun

Claire is now two years old. Wow! We can't believe it. We threw her a joint party this last Sat. with her cousin Carter. He is less that 24 hours older than her. It was a great time.

Last weekend was so nice so we took the kids to the A Maze'N Farmyard. It was a fun day. Morgan, Claire and Patrick all slid down this giant slide. Morgan said this was her favorite. The girls also rode on some pony's, which I think was Claire's favorite. She laughed hysterically the whole time. It was great.

Morgan has been in the house most of the week with a slight case of pneumonia and/or bronchitis, but at 4 yrs old this does not seem to slow her down. The girls have been couped up in the house all week, so we are planning to take them to the Como Zoo on Friday. Morgan has been anxious to see the polar bear. We will post pics ASAP.... Wish us luck...
